hey guys! welcome back to another post where you get to have an inside look at my random obsessions! the obsession of the day is….. reading! i am a TOTAL reading fanatic! sit me down with a good book and i will be thoroughly entertained for the rest of the day! reading is just… ughhh… its amazing!! you can get lost in a world that isn’t your own, and become the characters that you’re reading about! you feel all the emotions they’re feeling, all the struggles feel like they’re your own; everything about them becomes you! reading is an amazing experience and i wouldn’t trade it for the world! not only am i a reader, but i’m also a reader who reads like 10 books at the same time ๐ฌ my mom always asks me how i keep up with all the different story lines, and to be honest, i really don’t know. once i get to a boring part of one book, i move onto another one for a while, keep doing that until i’m done with the books ๐
soooo today i’ll be sharing all of the books that i’m currently reading, and am thoroughly obsessed with now, might i say!
MISTBORN – BRANDON SANDERSON
these books are soooo goooodddd!! they are about a young thief, vin, who has mysterious powers. they go through her journey to overcome an evil power ruling over her kingdom, and as she comes into her own as one of the mistborn.
its a sci-fi/fantasy kind of book and i am completely obsessed!
DIVERGENT – VERONICA ROTH
these books are a dystopian/fantasy kind of theme. they are about a society divided into five factions. as each person in this society grows into adulthood, they have to pick a faction and commit to it for life. tris picks dauntless which is a faction of people committed to bravery. soon she discovers that she is divergent and won’t be able to fit into just one faction. warned that she must conceal her status, tris uncovers a looming war which threatens everyone she loves.
ZION CHRONICLES – BODIE THEONE
thisย series covers the events surrounding Israel’s statehood in 1948. each book vividly portrays the intense struggle of the jewish people in the aftermath of the holocaust and the forces, within and without, which engulf the middle east in conflict and controversy even today.
LES MISERABLES – VICTOR HUGO
this is longggg book and im just starting it, but its so good so far!!
after 19 years as a prisoner, jean valjean is freed by javert, the officer in charge of the prison workforce. valjean promptly breaks parole but later uses money from stolen silver to reinvent himself as a mayor and factory owner. javert vows to bring valjean back to prison. eight years later, valjean becomes the guardian of a child named cosette after her mother’s death, but javert’s relentless pursuit means that peace will be a long time coming.
CATCH-22 – JOSEPH HELLER
this war satire follows captain john yossarian, a pilot stationed in the mediterranean who flies bombing missions during world war II. attempting to cope with the madness of armed conflict, yossarian struggles to find a way out of his wartime reality. surrounded by eccentric military officers, such as the opportunistic lieutenant milo minderbinder, yossarian must resort to extreme measures to escape his dire and increasingly absurd situation.
and there you have it! there are all of the books/series that i’m reading right now! i hope you enjoyed this post! you guys should definitely read these books!
tell me what kind of books you guys are reading below in the comments! i always love new recommendations for books!
Now, in the middle of To Kill a Mockingbird and House on the Cerulean Sea. One is a physical book and other a kindle.
When it comes to books, I am primarily a fantasy and classic fan

Never had to read To Kill a Mockingbird for school. While I always enjoyed reading, I never was the biggest fan of required reads.
Narnia and Harry Potter were most responsible for my love for fantasy. As for the classics, it was a combo of A Christmas Carol and Les Misรฉrables

ya im usually not either, but this one i really enjoyed.
yes! those are some amazing books!

In high school, I literally was telling myself I will never love a tragedy. That was part of the problem with high school required reads
By the way, Les Mis was what made me learn to love tragedy. Started on the musical and eventually read the book

yes and even with books that have the potential to be good, the teachers drag it out so much that it isn’t interesting anymore ๐
ya i can’t wait to watch the musical! i’ve already read the adbridged version of les mis, but now i’m reading the full version. me and my mom are going to watch it together soon.

Nice post! I read the Divergent series and it was so good!! The last book I didnโt like too much at first, but by the end I accepted it. Hey, Les Misรฉrables! I watched the movie with my mom, and we have tickets to see the play at a local theater this summer, but Iโve never read the book. I plan to though!

yes its so good! i’m right in the middle of the last one, and i have to agree. its not as good as the rest. ooo that’s cool! i’m going to watch the movie soon. yes you should definitely read it!

Ikr!? Yes, the movie is good!! Make sure there are no distractions around you because it ruins the “vibe”. My sister talked through the whole movie and so I couldn’t dive in as much as I would have liked.๐ Also there are parts to skip, buuut it’s still rly good! Reading the book is one of my goals for the year!

thanks for the advice! ya, my mom will be watching it with me, so she’ll know what to skip… yesss let me know how it goes!
